Here’s a Canadian Arista pressing of The Alan Parsons Project’s sixth studio album, “Ammonia Avenue” from 1984. This represents the duo at their most accessible yet, following the massive commercial success of “Eye in the Sky.” While purists might argue it marked a departure from their earlier conceptual ambitions, the album showcases Parsons’ production mastery and Eric Woolfson’s increasingly confident songwriting. The title track and “Don’t Answer Me” became radio staples, but deeper cuts like “Pipeline” and “Since the Last Goodbye” reveal the sophisticated layering and atmospheric textures that made APP pioneers in the art-rock/electronic crossover.
