Guitarists of the calibre of Tito Alcedo are very rare indeed. Born in 1958 Cadiz, Andalucia, Alcedo was interested in music from a very early age. He began strumming the guitar at the age of 12 and was 15 when he became the lead guitar member of a band, which mainly focussed on rock music. Shortly afterwards, he discovered jazz and began to work intensively on this form of music. Up to that point, the young musician had quite a normal development. The striking fact about Tito Alcedo, however, is that he has never had a teacher or taken comparable lessons on his instrument in his entire life, let alone been to a conservatory for that purpose.
